Icarus Posted by CyRUS64 @ 9:27
Almost 2 months ago today we ran an April fool's joke of Icarus running DOA2. Although still far from being a reality, there is a little surprise at the Official Site. =)

    AtariDC v0.7 Posted by CyRUS64 @ 3:26
    Here's what's new:

  • support for autostarting executable files or atr images: place autorun.com or autorun.exe or autorun.atr into the root directory of the CD autorunning cartridges is not implemented (the emulator needs the cart type, and there is no way to tell him automatically)
  • selecting (inserting) a cartridge will now start it immediately
  • 800: added keyboard emulation using DC controller: now most keys can be generated with the standard DC controller
  • 5200: added keypad emulation (only for the 1st 5200 controller)
  • 800: Option/Select/Start are now emulated with the DC keyboard (F2/F3/F4)
  • support to change video mode of emulated Atari (PAL/NTSC)

    Scummvm 2.0 Posted by CyRUS64 @ 4:28
Scummvm 2.0 has been released, with downloads for i386 Debian Woody, Windows, Dreamcast, MacOSX, Familiar/Intimate, and Windows CE :)
Here's some info on the changes in this version:

"Besides many major fixes, ScummVM now supports several new games, such as the FmTowns 256 color version of Zak McKracken, the CD version of Loom, and (strangly enough) Simon the Sorcerer! Several games supported in 0.1.0 are now completable in 0.2.0, such as Sam and Max.

ScummVM release 0.2.0 also includes experimental (eg, do not report bugs on it!) support for Full Throttle, The Dig, the VGA version of Indiana Jones and the Last Cruisade and the VGA version of Monkey Island (floppy)".

    FrotzDC Posted by CyRUS64 @ 4:24
c99koder has released a new version of FrotzDC. The main additions are more color schemes, and keyboard-only support, although saving still requires a VMU to be in port 1, so depending on whether your keyboard has a VMU plug in it you may still need a controller plugged in.

    DCBlap / titres Posted by CyRUS64 @ 23:56
c99koder informed me that he has released DCBlap, a 3d pong game. "It supports 0 - 2 players, the Dreamcast will play for any controller that isn't plugged in, and controllers can be added / removed at any time. The first player to get 5 points wins. Pressing start during gameplay will exit the game."

Also Jimbo has released version 0.0.7 of Titres, his tetris clone. The main addition is 2 player action, and game 'a' style(players operate independently, both take from the same next array).

    3d Invaders Posted by CyRUS64 @ 6:14
Paul Boese sent in a preview version of his 3d Invaders game. According to Paul, "There is no scoring and only one level. No menu, and no background music yet. I've included the source for completeness, but It's built against the current KOS-CVS with the local addition of a yet to be commited NURBS library."
He also requests for someone to submit a dj/nero image of this release.

    Dreamcast Bios Posted by CyRUS64 @ 20:07

After this screen the bios tries to communicate with the gdrom-controller via 'low-level' access (as opposed to the normal gdrom system calls method for obvious reasons since the bios sets up these calls itself and contains its own fs for loading the ip.bin and 1stread.bin from the gdrom) which is currently not emulated, but this is a very pleasing start :)

UPDATE: After faking some lowlevel gdrom dma access, I now have gotten the bios to run to the main screen. This screen however displays itself fairly slowly and continuously dmas textures whilst this is occurring, and there are still many issues to sort out for this to work fully.
